A predicted, measurable amount of snow meant it was necessary to put a mixing bowl outside to collect the main ingredient for Snow Ice Cream.

Taste testing
Delicious!
When we asked Eli if there were any activities he wanted to do over the winter, he expressed an interest in taking ice skating lessons. Mommy was quick to say yes to an opportunity to skate with her kiddo, and Eli has been having fun as he learns how to glide, wiggle backwards, and fall (in the correct, non-injury-causing sort-of-way). We even got the whole family on the ice for an open skate.
Itty bitty people in itty bitty skates is just too cute. Our adventurous little lady is ready to go!
We don't use the crates in class, but they sure are fun to play with during open skate.
With some snow finally on the ground, the kids and I went outside to build a baby Frosty and make train tracks all over the backyard. After a more significant snow day, the whole family got outside to follow animal tracks through the woods and sled on our very small downward slope in the yard.

Hot cocoa after playing outside (did I mention it was also a stay-in-your-pjs day?)
Can you spot the Eli?

Ready, set, ...
...Whee!
Finally enough snow to have a mountain at the end of the driveway!
