Summer Yum!

Still working hard to squeeze in a few more summer activities before we completely embrace fall. Recent adventures were food-based (not surprising, in this family): raspberry picking on a local farm and a campfire with s'mores in the backyard.

You gotta love a berry farm where one of the posted "rules" is that you can/should eat as many berries as you would like/are able. The preschoolers in our group braved the heat to fill their bellies (and contribute a few berries to the crates), and Evelyn, while enjoying the ride in the baby carrier, proved that she has fast hands, and thus sampled her first taste of raspberries on this outing.

Bright red shirt = easy to find in berry patch AND less berry-induced stains. Two points for Mommy!

Delicious right off the berry bush

Although we removed the in-ground fire pit that was here when we bought the house (for a good reason - to plant a hopefully some day big, beautiful evergreen tree!), the kids were just as happy to have a bonfire in the portable fire pit...as long as there were s'mores involved, of course!

Patiently waiting for the fire to be ready for marshmallow roasting

Learning from a pro

"pretty good"

Can't beat summer fun in the backyard
