Starting to Feel Like Fall

We've been enjoying the long Labor Day weekend by taking part in some classic Madison activities. On Saturday we made a trip to the Farmers' Market, although we needed to bundle up a bit, as it was feeling a bit chilly in the morning. Eli got to try out his fuzzy zip-up from Grandma and also sported his Badger hat to support the team for their game in Vegas.

Go Badgers!

This is the way to travel!

On Sunday, we braved the crowds (and it was crowded) to sample some yummy food at Taste of Madison. We met up with our friends Alice and Dan, and discovered that with a stroller and a pregnant woman in your party (Alice is due in October), the crowds part a little for you.

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Eight Weeks Old!

This week, Eli turned the big 0-8! Wow, 8 weeks goes by quickly when you are sleep-deprived and learning a lot about breastfeeding, diapering, and how to do things while holding an infant.

Boys on the Porch

Daddy took me outside to watch the machines moving dirt in our neighbor's front yard. After closely studying this equipment, I think I could definitely take it for a spin!

Bold fashion choice with the spit-rag on the shoulder, Dad.

First Overnight at Grandma's and Grandpa's

Eli and Katie decided to tag along on one of Cory's work trips, of course because we like to travel with Cory, and also since it included an overnight at Grandma and Grandpa's in West Bend. Grandma made this home away from home very comfortable and we enjoyed visiting with family and friends, including GG and G-pa! After the long trip out East, the drive over to WB seemed like no time at all!

Wow - 4 generations!

This changing table is a good place for making kiss-y faces at Grandma.

Posing for the paparazzi who would not stop snapping pictures while I tried to nap.

Dining al Fresco

With Fall just around the corner, Eli wanted to make the most of the nice weather by joining his parents for dinner out on the deck.

First Bottle

While on our road trip, Eli took his first bottle from Dad. Dad was excited to be able to share in the feeding fun, and Mom has found it amusing to learn how this whole pumping thing works.

Celebrating 60 Years of Marriage

We recently were fortunate to be able to travel to Virginia to join in celebrating Eli's great-grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary. It certainly was amazing to be part of a celebration of such a strong and loving marriage. This was Eli's first trip outside of Wisconsin, and as you can see below, he thoroughly enjoyed visiting Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennslyvania, and Maryland on his journey. He also enjoyed meeting many of the relatives, and was especially glad to have Miss Ella looking out for him during his visit. Although it may have seemed a daunting endeavor, we were pleased to discover that you really can do a multi-day road trip with an almost 6-week old!

Wasn't liking this state too much...

Car seats are good for napping.

Enjoying some sunshine.

Am I really still in this seat?

I've never seen my mom and dad in such nice, spit-up free clothes.
